Discovery and Planning
The technology needs of a business are varied. Once a client establishes a service plan with Solidit Technologies, a signed Services Agreement is put in place. This Services Agreement outlines the team that is established to help your business or organization in their technology needs. Solidit Technologies is with you from creation of a plan to maintenance and support. In this discovery phase, the scope of services are mapped. Some common questions that might be asked during the discovery phase are:
- What technology services are needed?
- Do you have services that are necessary versus services that would be nice to have?
- What is your timeline for needing different services?
Of course, needs might arise later into the work but the discovery and planning phase means that as much of the service agreement as possible has been planned in advance. Establishing a strong contract with Solidit Technologies requires open and consistent communication from both the client and the MSP. Solutions need to be customized to the client and their budget while ensuring that they are meeting industry expectations.
Audit and Assessment of Your Existing IT Environment
There is a common saying that people don’t know what they don’t know. The same can be said for a client who signs a service agreement with an MSP. After the discovery and planning stage, solidIT Technologies will do an in-depth study of the existing client technology and infrastructure. Needs are considered in the context of the client budget. A lot of data will be gathered during this phase. This data is kept securely for the client in a document management system. The client needs to communicate their problems or challenges they have had with technology. The client needs to provide standard information such as:
- Site survey and documentation;
- Network investigation;
- Security assessment;
- Backup verification;
- Server room inspections;
- Policy documentation (existing);
- Hardware and software categorized; and
- Agents that are monitoring for specific purposes.
As the MSP digs into all of the resources provided by the client, it is likely that additional questions or points of clarification will emerge. Solidit Technologies will follow up with the client right away if any critical concerns arise.
Customized IT Infrastructure Development
After a full discovery and assessment, Solidit Technologies will have solutions that the client has the ability to deploy. A review will be done of what has been found through the first two stages of working with an MSP. The review will explore what is currently in place and what the recommendations are for the future.
Many times, during this stage Solidit Technologies will identify cost-saving measures and operational inefficiencies. These will allow for the same level of service to be provided at a cost-effective solution. The client needs to be ready to change and abandon antiquated systems for the full infrastructure development to be realized.
Implementation and Ongoing IT Management
At this stage, the onboarding and planning process is complete and the service delivery process begins. The client will meet with Solidit Technologies and decide what services will be implemented. How long this deployment will take depends heavily on the solutions the client has adopted as well as the complexity of the system. A deployment could be completed in a day or two or it could be a several month process. The project management of the deployment will increase with length to make sure that milestones are being met and the client is aware of updates and progress.
As anyone who works in technology knows, updating technology is not enough. Users of the technology need to be provided with training for using that technology efficiently and safely. Solidit Technologies will provide this training and any additional customer support needed. There might be some individuals in the company who need more information or training than others, and the MSP will make sure that they know the ins and outs of the new systems. When the deployment is complete and the client is satisfied with it, the Solidit Technologies will shift from an active partner to a support role for any needed updates or questions from the client.
